Hey, I’m Monica Yang.
I’m a UX Designer based in NYC/NJ.
I’m open to onsite, hybrid and remote roles. Here are some examples of my work.

User research
Responsive Design
GAF’s blog had 700K yearly visitors but little engagement. Money spent on content-creation was wasted by a poor user experience. I leveraged analytics and competitive research to redesign the experience.

GAF’s old navigation menu was bloated, overwhelming and negatively impacted SEO. Through user interviews, testing and analytics work, I was able to get stakeholder buy-in for a redesigned, user-friendly menu.

Before pivoting into UX, I designed shoes for a kid’s fashion brand.
Shoe Designer | 1/2026 - 9/2021

About me
I’ve been a life-long designer, and my first career was in shoe design. Working in fashion taught me how to work around time and budget constraints to deliver impactful products.
Today, I’m a UI/UX designer at GAF, a roofing manufacturer with 30 plants nationwide. I design for GAF’s website, which serves 7 million users annually. I oversee the end-to-end design process from initial kickoff through research, testing and handoff.
In this role, I advocate for UX principles and research-based designs while balancing trade-offs with stakeholder asks.
